Results obtained in SHIMMER Work Package 3 were published as a paper in the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy in September 2025. Full paper is available for download; the highlights include:
- A numerical model assessing underwater release of multicomponent gas is documented.
- Relevant material properties for hydrogen, methane, oxygen and nitrogen are documented.
- The model is consistent with experimental observations.
- The model is applied to releases with various gas mixing blends.
- Simulations demonstrate that risk potential increases with hydrogen content.
