On Wednesday 28th of May 2025 the second Cluster Workshop between the CANDHy and SHIMMER projects took place, online.
The meeting, directed to scientific, technical and research community, was mainly focused on the technical aspects of the two projects and the results achieved up to the moment. After the opening of the meeting and a brief introduction, the two project coordinators provided a general overview of the related projects, to give a first context to the people not familiar with them, and then the discussion focused on more technical aspects.
The SHIMMER projects dedicated a session to the “Introduction of the SHIMMER Database for safe hydrogen injection in the European natural gas infrastructure” and another one to the “Hydrogen admixing infrastructure design using optimization” while the two main topics addressed by the CANDHy consortium were the “Review of the state of art of the European grid materials and existing standards” and the “Compatibility assessment of non-steel metallic materials with hydrogen”. At the end of the mentioned presentations, a Q&A session was held.
The meeting, which was open to the public, lasted about two and a half hours and was attended by about 50 people.
