SHIMMER will hold its final meeting on June 9 and 10 in Brussels (Belgium). The project partners will take stock of the actions carried out during the project and will also discuss the steps to be taken during the final stage of the project, which ends in August this year.

In addition, SHIMMER will organise a cluster workshop together with the European project CANDHy. This initiative aims to assess the impact of introducing hydrogen and hydrogen mixtures on the infrastructure and integrity of the materials that make up existing gas distribution networks. This event will allow both projects to share their progress to share their progress towards greater application of hydrogen in the current gas grid network.

SHIMMER project seeks to facilitate the safe integration of hydrogen into existing gas networks by closing technical and regulatory gaps and improving understanding of the associated risks and opportunities. To this end, the project is mapping the European gas infrastructure, developing methods and tools to manage and simulate hydrogen-gas mixtures, and proposing best practices for the safe operation of multigas networks in the context of the transition to a low-carbon economy.
